Hotel Tips

Call ahead to make sure your reservation is still active and rebook if there are any price drops or changes in number of people staying with you. Another cost saving tips is to bundle the stay with airport parking and shuttle to avoid hefty fees.

Always find a reason to email the front desk manager in hotels that you plan to visit again. Tell them what they did right and express your plans to stay again and ask what opportunities there might be for frequent discounts or upgrades on your next visits. If you become friends with the manager, you just might get the friends and family rate some day.

Ask to be placed opposite of any roadways. Road noise can be a constant source of pollution which may not be a noticeable problem during the day but reveals itself at night. Don't be afraid to request a room change to get a better sleep.

Things To Do

Red Deer keeps your pets fed, groomed, clothed and entertained with a wide assortment of ts.s available online and in-store. Does your dog need a bit of training? Check with us for great referrals to dog walkers, trainers and veterinarians who can work with your pets.

Red Deer has the perfect game shop for both young and old. Your friends and family will enjoy hours of entertainment with a wide selection of board games, card games and games of skill. A perfect stop for travellers with kids and those seeking a new adventure for game night.

Red Deer brings meaning to leisure time while enjoying the local yarn shop and wandering through in amazement with the different fibers and vast array of colors. Signing up for a class is easy and fun and serves as a great getaway for a few hours to enjoy the company of fellow knitters.

Why Do You Love Downtown?

kristin Cutler

It's so cute and quaint.

We love supporting local businesses wherever we visit.

I like the idea of downtown merchants being more visible and that they are locally owned and operated. It's great to see what's available downtown and I look forward to the discounts as well. Being a history buff, I love see the architecture as it was back in the day which is lost in modern buildings. Downtown is charming, inviting and quaint!

Deborah

Jacksonville is utterly charming! I love browsing Terra Firma and Pickety Place, eating delicious Umi Sushi, and sitting under the amazing wisteria in the Bella Union garden. I always go to the library in that sweet little building, where Lauren the librarian knows me by name (and recommends good books). The Good Bean people are awfully nice, and even the clerks at Umpqua Bank are especially kind and friendly. Best little downtown ever!

Christy Richards

Because I love to shop local and the stores and owners make your visit welcoming inviting you to return again with a smile on their face.
