Huffman House Bed and Breakfast is located in the historic district of Minden, Louisiana and it’s a short walk to Minden’s Business District. Each evening we at the Huffman House have a special treat for our arriving guests, the staff prepares a welcoming specialty herb tea and a little something for that sweet tooth. If you’re looking for more social interaction each evening our guests are invited to the theater room for special showing of a recently released film and of course popcorn is included at no additional cost. If you expect to arrive hungry you can always call ahead and take advantage of our in room dining or have a fresh fruit assorted cheeses and crackers delivered ahead of your arrival accompanied by a bottle of wine (call ahead to request pricing for in room dining). The History Of Huffman House Bed and Breakfast The Huffman House Bed and Breakfast is a Queen Ann Revival home, that was built by Mr. J.H. Nelson in 1918 on the site of the 1870 Reams house. Wood and architectural pieces from the original home was used in the construction of the much larger Nelson homestead. Currently the Huffman home has over 5100 ft.² in the main living quarters with the adjacent pool house adding an additional 300 ft.² plus a second full kitchen. Kimberly and James Huffman purchased this home in 2015 and begin a cosmetic renovation to freshen this grand old historic home. Kimberly and James both hoteliers by trade secured the proper documentation and permits to transform this grand historic home into a Luxury Micro Inn / Bed and Breakfast in the downtown Minden Historic District in June of 2015, and at that time formed Huffman Management, LLC as the operating entity . The Huffman House B&B is now renting rooms and has received outstanding reviews for its guests.

Policies vary on the availability of pet friendly rooms to it is wise to be open, honest and upfront during the booking process. You may find yourself kicked out or even paying a large deposit if you are not in a pet-friendly hotel and bring one anyway. New ADA laws are fuzzy though as service animals are not required to be documented and proprietors are legally not allowed to ask if the animal is a pet vs. a service animal.
Always find a reason to email the front desk manager in hotels that you plan to visit again. Tell them what they did right and express your plans to stay again and ask what opportunities there might be for frequent discounts or upgrades on your next visits. If you become friends with the manager, you just might get the friends and family rate some day.
Other sources of noise can be opening and closing trash dumpsters and also during collection by garbage trucks. Another great question is if they have any renovation plans, or underway that could affect your ability to relax. Pack earplugs and eyeshades!

Minden micro breweries have popped up in downtown corridors to quench the thirst of local or traveller whos is looking for a one-of-a-kind experience for suds brewed on site. If you are looking for a light beer or something randy and dark, you are sure to find a wide assortment of options to choose from.
