Hotel Tips

Most hotel offer a complimentary breakfast bar or even a full cafe meal with your choice of a full menu. Keep in mind that some offer nothing at all so it is a good idea to pack a few packets of instant oatmeal for a quick and easy meal before you head out for the day.

Upon check-in, slip the desk agent a tip and ask for the best room they can find at your current booked rate. Often times a quick $10 or $20 bill can go a long way towards the mood of the person who directly decides where you lay your head for the night.

Call ahead to make sure your reservation is still active and rebook if there are any price drops or changes in number of people staying with you. Another cost saving tips is to bundle the stay with airport parking and shuttle to avoid hefty fees.

Things To Do

Clarksville has several options for shopping for specialty food items that are not found in regular grocery stores. Shops tailored for "foodies" offer tastings of the products as well as scheduled culinary classes to perfect your skills. Shop for infused oils, salts and spices from around the World!

Clarksville brings meaning to leisure time while enjoying the local yarn shop and wandering through in amazement with the different fibers and vast array of colors. Signing up for a class is easy and fun and serves as a great getaway for a few hours to enjoy the company of fellow knitters.

Clarksville can warm you up on a cloudy day or simply offer your daily perk by visiting your local coffee shop. Quality, purity and punch are targeted with coffee beans curated globally and locally roasted while being served fresh as it is made right in front of you. Order up!

Why Do You Love Downtown?

BOB BLACKMAN

Just a fun place to visit.

Kathleen Zimmerman

I get the best of both worlds of big city living and upper peninsula awareness.

Paul

I just love the small town vibe.

Sophie Jacobson

I love downtown because it offers something for everyone!

Deborah

Jacksonville is utterly charming! I love browsing Terra Firma and Pickety Place, eating delicious Umi Sushi, and sitting under the amazing wisteria in the Bella Union garden. I always go to the library in that sweet little building, where Lauren the librarian knows me by name (and recommends good books). The Good Bean people are awfully nice, and even the clerks at Umpqua Bank are especially kind and friendly. Best little downtown ever!
