Hotel Tips

Bring an actual credit card to avoid deposits and pre-authorizations consuming money in your checking account which will reduce your available balance. Hotels that accept paper cash often ask for a hefty deposit to cover potential damages in your room leaving you scrambling to find an ATM.

Elevators are notorious for being a nuisance so ask to be roomed on the top floor and as far away as possible. Most hotels book nearby rooms last so hopefully they have availability elsewhere.

Always announce during booking if the trip is for a special event, anniversary or reunion. Group rates can be pre-negotiated and you may qualify for a lower cost and better upgrades for your stay. If you are the one setting up the event, always work directly with the front desk manager to make sure the best service is offered to your party.

Things To Do

Carteret gives several options to find the right piece of art as it takes time and a diligent effort to get just the right piece. Shopping for art downtown is the best way to locate your next purchase.

Carteret brings musicians together and finding your local musical instrument shop can be a great way to get to try new and used guitars. Be sure to start your search downtown if you are looking to upgrade, trade-in or add to your collection.

Carteret has the perfect game shop for both young and old. Your friends and family will enjoy hours of entertainment with a wide selection of board games, card games and games of skill. A perfect stop for travellers with kids and those seeking a new adventure for game night.

Why Do You Love Downtown?

Molly MacTaggart

Always love quaint, historic downtown areas, late April will be our first visit to Dillon.

Quaint, small town friendly atmosphere.

Downtowns are so cute and has a very relaxed inviting vibe that puts a smile on my face. In addition, downtown was so clean. It was fun visiting the unique shops and boutiques and everyone was very friendly. Our stroll around Lithia Park was beautiful and so peaceful. It truly is a gem. Lastly, we ate at 4 or 5 different restaurants that had great food and great service.

We are coming in August to visit . My husband is related to Esther, the town was named after. We would like to visit some Historial areas there and also visit the downtown area as well.
